Is that Will mowing the lawn outside the church?

#MIROIR NOIR FULL#

Intervention studio footage with full string orchestra is interesting too. And every phone message to them is every superfan like me leaving them a message. Win outside the church at night doing vocals for Keep the Car Running singing into the darkness with a hoodie on. Windowsill is their best song ever, at least at this moment while I'm watching it. Obviously in a Hyatt hotel, along with the people running on various floors in the background. *edit 2* holy shit "my body is a cage" is like Jethro Tull Aqua Lung only with real emotion. "If you're going to San FranciscoLay some flowers on the grave stone" Cold Wind (not on album) so beautiful and amazing juxtaposition of the slow melancholy melody with the most aggressive and energetic visuals of them playing live is just. This is pure gold! Anyone try the phone number? I tried the website and it was a standard placeholder generic website with no content. Holy shit i'm only 20 minutes in, but thank you for turning me on to this! Neon Bible was never my favorite, but it's become my fave in the last few months. The live wake up scene, the elevator scene, the "Surf City Eastern Block" performance. I saw this post the other day and I'm finally getting around to watching it and my mind is blown! 🤯 I love everything about this.

Have you watched it? What were your thoughts? :)Įdit: u/vectordoom has inadvertently reminded me that I stupidly forgot my favorite part of the movie - Neon Bible in an elevator! It is such a cool idea - the percussion is so creative, everyone is totally feeling the emotion, and the violin is absolutely incredible. They keep pretty private and I appreciate that, but moments like that always make me happy. I think that's everything I can think of? Oh - I loved the scene where Règine just runs into Win's arms. I thought they were all thought-provoking in some way, if not pretty at least. Règine running like crazy on the beach, someone writing 'windowsill' in the window fog, church windows, the little girl dancing during Surf City Eastern Block, Win walking down the street as church bells sound, etc. I thought the visuals were excellent as well. "Why is the night so still? Why did I take the pill? Because I don't want to see it at my windowsill." I liked how it was used as the ending scene, with Win in the car. Windowsill was performed a couple times, and I thought it was done perfectly. I could have done without seeing the 1 millionth super-energetic, super-loud performance of Power Out and Rebellion, as good as they are, but liked the redone version of Wake Up with a banjo haha. The version of Haiti (does anyone know where that's from) they chose was quite stirring, and I liked that they played it over the clip of the guy insulting them, although I think that particular voicemail may have been satirical. I thought Règine drawing the band was super cute, too. Of course, some of this may be mis-interpretation due to personal bias, but I can at least say with full certainty that I loved what they did with the hotline.īack to the movie, anyway! I loved the little clips of them recording vocals, or the violinists recording for Intervention, or of Règine practicing drums - so interesting! It's always fun to see behind-the-scenes practicing. "Working for the church while your life falls apart," is excellent. I grew up religious and although luckily the belief level was not especially cult-like, I was able to 'get' a lot of the references and love Neon Bible's theme. I do believe," "Things aren't so simple, are they? This is harder than I thought," "This new.product coming out, is the most excited I've been for anything in a while" (probably not direct quotes as they're from my memory) are all absolutely genius. I loved the messages from the hotline that they played back - "I believe in myself, I believe in the cause, and I believe in the effect. I decided to re-watch it when I got more into Neon Bible (album) and understood more of the way they almost mocked cults (related to Win and Will growing up as Mormons, maybe? or just the way they see religion), and absolutely loved it. The first time, I found it confusing and thought lots of the scenes didn't fit together. I personally really liked it by the 2nd time I watched it. I haven't seen anyone talk about Miroir Noir (2008 movie/concert documentary) yet - so let's discuss it! (If you've never heard of it - here it is: It is available on YouTube, but as always, it's much better to support the people who actually made the movie.)
